Large companies may be under the spotlight due to Big Data, but small companies shouldn’t shy away from such services since they are also beneficial for them.
Small businesses far outnumber big companies, and the data they handle may pale when compared to that of larger businesses, but they are still vital for their everyday operations. Both large and small companies thrive on data to manage their day-to-day activities and plan for their long-term growth and success.
A company that relies on its employees to handle their data will usually encounter problems such as missing values, spelling errors, inaccurate rata, incorrect formatting, inconsistencies, among others. Big companies can’t afford to experience such setbacks due to the amount of data they’re handling every day, and the same goes for small companies since their data is vital for their operations.
Small Data focuses more on the company’s data about its clients, suppliers, inventory, and workers. While not as “rich” as big data, small data is extremely crucial, and errors around it could severely hamper a business from thriving and potentially cripple it financially.
