Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini: 5 Reasons Why One Should Not Buy

The South Korean Smartphone manufacturers, Samsung are all set to launch the stripped down version of their flagship, Samsung Galaxy S5 in India. This latest smartphone is named as Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Duos, and is expected to hit the stores very soon. This smartphone was announced back in July. And now the leading online store, Flipkart has teased the exclusive launch of this smartphone. However, there is no official word on the date of availability and the price tag.

Earlier, Samsung launched the stripped version of Galaxy S4, named as Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Duos, which grabbed the attention of the mid-budget segment buyers. Following which, the Galaxy S5 Mini targets those buyers who want to own a smartphone with high end and innovative features, but at low price tag.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is really not a worth buy package deal. If you are a Samsung fan, this may disappoint you a bit. But, here we bring you the top 5 reasons, why one should not buy the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini.

1.) Cheap Plastic Body:

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is built upon a plastic body, which gives it a pretty cheap feeling in your hands. The plastic quality is below average, and it doesn’t feels solid and premium in your hands. The HTC One Mini 2, is again a stripped variant but is built upon a metal body, which is far better than the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini.

2.) No Appealing Design

The Samsung Galaxy S5 sports the same old looking body design, which almost every Samsung Galaxy Smartphone has. Even the entry level, Samsung Galaxy Star Pro features almost a similar design. Hence, this smartphone won’t make you stand different in the crowd. The Galaxy S5 Mini would fail to grab the attention of your eyeballs.

3.) Low Quality Fingerprint Scanner:

It may sound awesome that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini features fingerprint scanner, just like its big brother. But, we would like to inform you that this fingerprint scanner would really not stand upon your expectations. This feature fails to recognize your fingerprint at various times. Also, you need to be very specific while positioning your thumbs on the display for the scanning purposes.

4.) Average Performance of User Interface:

Samsung is known for its quick and lag free user interfaces on its high end smartphone devices. However, under normal usage conditions the user interface of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is very slow and not similar to other Galaxy Smartphones. You may get lags while switching between applications and games on this smartphone.

5.) Overpriced:

There is not a single official word from Samsung about the price tag of Samsung Galaxy S5 in India. However, it is expected that Samsung may launch this smartphone between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 35,000 in India. At this range, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is an overpriced offering, as compared to the added hardware specifications and features. In the same price range, the Google Nexus 5, HTC One E8, Sony Xperia Z1 and Apple iPhone 5C could be a better option.
